Term 1 Week 6 - Thursday 13th March 2025
News from the Principal

Yesterday we held our International Women’s Day assembly, during which Melissa Doueihi, Head of Strategy and Innovation at Endeavour Energy, addressed students, staff and the special guests of Year 11. She spoke about the values and motivation instilled in her by her parents, sisters, children and school, and told us how each of the people in these groups contributed to her growth as a successful mother, business woman and corporate leader. She was inspiring, and the school community was motivated by her address.
Donna Davis, Member of Parliament for Parramatta, was also in attendance, representing the Deputy Premier, Prue Car. Ms Davis spoke about the importance of continuing to work for gender equality in all aspects of society, and how it is particularly important for gender equality to be represented in schools. In closing, Ms Davis honoured the work of four staff members who retired from Catherine McAuley in 2025: Ms Fernandes, Mrs Kazzi, Ms Newman and Mr Lennon.
We also enjoyed the company of many mothers, grandmothers, sisters and aunts of Year 11 students at this event.
We are grateful to both speakers, and our female role models, for inspiring us all to strive for higher things.

Principal
